Design and Layout Week 17 AM

This morning, for lecture time you are working on your uncomfortable ad exercise. Read about what you got here. Remember the goal of this is not to put something in our faces that is crude, or uncomfortable for any aged person to look at.  It may be uncomfortable for you to do, but shouldn't come off as such to others.

You have a problem: You have to advertise something that is usually hush hush. You have to do it in a way that's tasteful, and not tasteless.

I want you to share what you have at the 1 PM Zoom meeting. I will do the talking, for the most part.

Design and Layout Week 16 PM

This is from your last reading assignment.

Design and Layout Week 16 PM Uncomfortable Ads

This is a 1 to 2 hour exercise. You can do it independently, or with 1 other person. I usually do it in groups, if you were in class.

Take the companies provided, pick one, and make a quick 8 1/2 x 11 ad for it. It's an exercise. No thumbnails or references needed. I will give you, for the most part 2 lecture times to do this. Pro examples, and examples from past years are on the bottom. Goal: To make the ad tasteful! Any aged family member should be able to look at this. It's in a family magazine.

Toe Juice: toejuice.com

In 1970, Royce Garner, a high school science teacher in Boise, Idaho, produced his first batch of Toe Juice®. His endeavor began when his infant son had flaking, dry, cracked feet. The many lotions and creams were ineffective and messy. So Royce did some research, went to his lab, and came out with a revolutionary new product.

Discover the advantages of the tampons of the new generation. No woman of today can feel that having her period is particularly pleasant. Even without the - only too frequent - physical discomforts, menstruating all too often gets in the way of daily life and of cherished pursuits. You know: the weekend you were looking forward to is spoilt, once again, by your being unable to take part in sports, to go swimming, or to visit a sauna. And, maybe worst of all, during menstruation, sexual intercourse very often looses all its attractions.

The first step one needs to do to determine which product or products are suited for them is to determine their level of incontinence. It’s best if they also keep in mind whether they want products that are reusable or disposable. See all the details below. One can then further choose using comfort, discretion, and budget as a guide.

A simple list is below for determining a person’s level of urinary incontinence:

a. Light is dribbling and occasional urine release.
b. Moderate is large releases of urine but not a full bladder.
c. Heavy is the release of a full bladder in the daytime.
d. Overnight is the release of urine throughout the night.
e. Fecal is loss of bowel control.

Bamboobies are nursing pads. They are a soft style solution that have been created with love from one mother to many mothers. Bamboobies began as a solution to a personal problem: I was very ‘leaky’ and couldn’t find a pad that didn’t leak or show through my shirt. In 2009 the funny name “Bamboobies” popped into her head.
